The Two Kingdoms
by Jack Horn
There are two kingdoms that are influencing the way we live every day. One is the Kingdom of God.
Jesus is the king of this kingdom. The second is the Kingdom of this world. The god of this world (Satan)
is in charge of this kingdom. Our everyday living is being influenced by both of these kingdoms.
THE KINGDOM OF GOD
Genesis 3:8 God would come in the cool of the evening and communicate with Adam and Eve. From
the very beginning God’s plan was to have communion with man.
Gen 3:6 When Adam and Eve ate of the fruit, sin entered into the world and the ability of man to have
an intimate relationship with God was broken.
At times God would speak to individuals. After God chose Israel to be his people, He spoke to them
by the Prophets. When God chose Moses to lead Israel out of bondage, He spoke to Israel through Moses.
Exodus 19:17 Moses brought Israel to the mountain so they could hear God speak.
Exodus 20: 19 Israel said to Moses; "Speak to us yourself and we will listen; but let not God
speak to us, lest we die".
Ever since that time, most people are content to let someone else tell them what God is saying. But
remember it has always been in God’s heart to have an intimate relationship with all His children.
GOD PROVIDED A WAY THROUGH JESUS.
Matt 6:33. We are to seek first two things. The Kingdom of God and His righteousness.
Matt 6:9-13. The Lord’s Prayer gives us the definition of the Kingdom of God. It says the Kingdom
comes when we know what God’s will is for each one of us. It will come to earth, when we know what
God’s will is for us. This means, we have to be in an intimate relationship with God to know what His
will is for each one of us. In other words, we need to spend time with God and let him speak to us. In the
cool of the evening, (or any other time), He will come and talk with us.
HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN?
Romans 12: 1, 2. To prove what the will of God is we must; a). Have our minds renewed b). Present
our bodies as a living sacrifice.
1Cor 2: 9-16. When we were born again by the Spirit of God, He gave us His Spirit within us to grow
us up into a mature man. It is by the Spirit we have an intimate relationship with God.
THERE ARE TWO KINGDOMS
Col. 1:13; The two kingdoms are identified. One is called the kingdom of darkness (Kingdom of this
world}, and the Kingdom of His dear Son. (The Kingdom of God}.
Rev 11:15; The kingdom of this world identified.
Eph. 2:1-3; World’s kingdom is ruled by, "the prince of the power of the air" (Devil)
John 12: 31 The ruler of this world. (Devil)
Matt: 12: 24 The ruler of the demons is called Beelzebub (Devil)
JESUS: SOLUTION TO THE WORLD.
John 17:14-16 We are not controlled by the World.
Galatians 1:3, 4 Jesus came to deliver us from the control of this World.
1John 3:8 Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil.
